The New Hampshire Senate has been meeting since 1784. It is the upper house of the New Hampshire General Court. It consists of 24 members representing Senate districts based on population. Currently, there are 14 Democrats and 10 Republicans in the Senate.

Leadership of the New Hampshire Senate

Sylvia Larsen (D-15) is the President of the Senate, and Maggie Hassan (D-23) is President Pro Tem. Joseph Foster (D-13) is Majority Leader, with Deputy Majority Leader Peter Burling (D-5), Majority Whip Martha Fuller Clark (D-24), and Deputy Democratic Whip David Gottesman (D-12). Lou D'Allesandro (D-20) is Vice President for Finance, and Iris Estabrook (D-21) is Vice-President for Policy. Theodore Gatsas (R-16) is the Republican Leader.(External Link)
